We got a call a few weeks back from Nicole at Portland Fruit Tree Project, A nonprofit project who need Secondary keys to theirs cars. We toke the opportunity to help, and yesterday we finally found the time to have all cars present.

Who is Portland Fruit Tree Project?We are a volunteer-driven nonprofit of 4 staff members and 1,000+ volunteers. We bring people together and provide fresh fruit to folks who need it most through the beauty and bounty of fruit trees.What do we do?Every year, PFTP organizes events 150+ events in and around the city of Portland that focus on the harvest and care of fruit trees. At our harvesting events, volunteer pickers donate 50% of the harvested fruit to local food banks/pantries and health clinics. At our 75+ community orchards events, volunteers teach others – also volunteers – how to care for fruit trees so they can be a reliable source of food, nature, and community in our growing, changing city.Our programs are designed to bring people together, to guarantee the availability of fresh fruit for everyone, to provide valuable leadership and skill-building opportunities – especially for young people, and to honor the many benefits of green space in an increasingly urban environment.
